New: Caudalie Polyphenol C15 A Double Anti-Oxidant Revolution

What a delight to see Mathilde Thomas and her wonderful line, Caudalie, continue to grow. Today I learned of the free radicals that are damaging my skin and I know I am in need of a lifestyle change. The foods we eat, the air we breathe, the sun- all work against us in the skincare arena so we must fully protect ourselves daily.

For the first time, Caudalie has patented the combination of stabilized Grape- seed Polyphenols, the most powerful anti- oxidants in the plant world, and stabilized Vitamin C, to block these damaging free radicals! Introducing Polyphenol c15, a new skincare range made of three treatments that when used continuously- will recharge your skin to boost it's youth both on the surface and into the deeper layers.

At age 30, skin begins to weaken and dulls. Experts agree that a daily dose of anti- oxidants is the best way to preserve and enhance the youth of our cells.

The Polyphenol c15 regimen protects and repairs aging skin cells so they can regenerate more effectively.

The Caudalie Polyphenol c15 includes:

Anti-Wrinkle Defense Serum ($ 62), Broad Spectrum SPF 20 Anti-Wrinkle Protect Fluid ( $ 49) and the Anti-Wrinkle Eye and Lip Cream ( $ 49).

Estee Lauder: Modern Muse Bow Edition

Mother's Day is right around the corner and what a beautiful gift this would make?! Modern Muse is a fragrance that was inspired by the intriguing duality of today's modern woman and complements all aspects of her dynamic daily life.

The fragrance is composed of subtle contrasts and bold contradictions as it reveals layers of strength and softness in an appealing way. You have Sparkling Jasmine Accord which is the facet of the fragrance, along with Exotic Mandarin, Honeysuckle Nectar and two extractions of Jasmine Sambac. Then on the contrasting side you have Sleek Wood Accord including Madagascar Vanilla, Rich Amber Wood and Soft Musk.

Modern Muse Bow Edition was created from the original Modern Muse bottle and then elevated to another level of creativity. " Every detail was considered when we created this-the rich navy glass, the carefully rounded edges, the size of the bottle to the hand and most importantly, the magic of holding a glass bow. The finished piece is exquisite and perfectly connected to the back elements of the original bottle," says Richard Ferretti, Senior Vice President, Global Creative Director for Estee Lauder.

Available for $ 48.00 at Estee Lauder counters nationwide, and at major airports.

Juara Skincare & More: Gugu Mbatha-Raw

I love Nick's work so am over the moon to be able to write about this uber talented MUA to the stars and his use of Juara skincare among other products.

Celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose created the gorgeous, glowing look of Gugu Mbatha-Raw using Juara skincare products for her red carpet premiere of ‘Belle’ tonight in NYC.

“Gugu is wearing a green dress that has a gorgeous golden sheen to it.  Her jewelry has purple tones to it, so we went with a subtle eye incorporating purple but keeping it soft.

The whole look tonight is fresh, spring, sun kissed skin with soft, plum smokey eyes and peach lips and cheeks.

I began by prepping Gugu’s skin with the Juara Tamarind Tea Hydrating Toner, which gave her a bit of hydration.  Since the weather’s getting warmer, I used Juara’s Sweet Black Tea & Ginger Mattefying Moisturizer to keep the skin from turning oily on the red carpet.  I massaged it into her skin thoroughly using my fingertips and let it absorb.  Even though the product is great at controlling oils, it still leaves the skin supple and creates the perfect canvas for makeup.  Next, I gently massaged in Juara’s Sweet Black Tea Eye Crème to prep under the eyes and on the lids, and then blotted with a tissue.

I created soft, plum smokey eyes using the Tom Ford Eyes Colour Palette in Lavender Lust.  To add lift and elongate her eye shape, I applied two coats of Votre Vu’s Eiffel Power mascara, concentrating on the outer corners.

For her lips, I applied Chanel’s Glossimer in 119, a soft, peachy tone gloss.

Since she’s wearing a sleeveless dress tonight and the weather is a bit warmer, I gently massaged the Juara Tiare Jasmine Tea Body Milk into her shoulders and arms.  Body milk is perfect for warmer weather since it’s not too thick, gives the perfect amount of hydration and brings out a subtle sheen in the warmer weather, whereas a regular body moisturizer or crème would be too heavy.”

Juara products are available at

Body Oils vs. Body Lotions

I know I get confused at the stores and counters sometimes as to what does what when it comes to lotions vs. oils and Beauty & Skin Expert Gregorie Guillaume breaks down the difference between Body Potions & Lotions and shares her choices for this season.

The following are her personal suggestions:

Do yourself and your body a favor this season and add body oils to the mix to get even softer skin from SKINN Cosmetics, Whish, Caldrea and Viktor&Rolf. As creatures of habit, stepping out of the shower and reaching for that tried and true body lotion is what we know.
Body Oils vs. Body Lotions
Before you make the decision to switch or even add a body oil to your regimen, let's first understand what the difference is between the two product types. Body oils moisturize the top layer of the skin, keeping moisture trapped in while not penetrating the skin. Body lotions are made with skin-softening ingredients like aloe vera, shea butter and Vitamins D & E to penetrate and hydrate the skin.

Now you've got the facts - what decision will you make?
Anti-Aging Solutions
More than just a body oil, Collagenesis Essential Radiance Omega-Rich Anti-Aging Body Oil ($49, doesn't just produce a gorgeous glow, made with a concentrated blend of anti-aging ingredients: botanical oils rich in Omega 3, 6, 7, 9 & 12 Fatty Acids, Collagenesis targets parched, aging or withered skin and rejuvenates and replenishes it with moisture so it feel supple.

Whish Blueberry Body Oil ($28, is a treat for your nose and skin as it leaves it with a luminous finish.  Sesame and sunflower seed oils moisturize it, olive leaf extract and jojoba oil calm inflamed skin and  Dermaxyl - an anti-aging peptide ingredient reduces fine lines and wrinkles.
Budget Beauty Oil
The Target stores brand of body care products, recently-launched Caldrea Essential Collection is pretty much OMG! Of the four fragrances within the collection offered, Mango Lily is by far my favorite and the Body Oil ($9.99, Made of Argan and Meadowsweet Oil - juicy tropical and notes of lily, this body oil has a nice thickness to it which absorbs quickly.
From The Design House Viktor&Rolf
Viktor&Rolf Bomblicious Dry Body Oil ($65, department stores) isn't just about moisturizing thirsty skin, it's about wrapping your body in the warmth with every spritz. The velvety oil is yet another marvelous way to get lost in the Flowerbomb Bomblicious fragrance.

Maybelline: Dream Wonder Powder and More!

When Maybelline shows love, they truly show love! Just look at the generous amount of beauty products that were sent my way and you shall get an overall feel of the latest launches.

I decided to swatch it slowly and use the products daily to get a true feel for the collections.

Today I chose the Dream Wonder Powder in Porcelain Ivory ( $ 9.99), Maybelline New York's New Face Studio Master Hi-Light in Pink Rose ( $ 9.99) and Maybelline New York Expertwear Eyeshadow Quad in Luminous Lilacs ( $ 6.25). Note there are 48 new shades added to this popular Expertwear Eyeshadow Collection!

There are 16 shades available in the Dream Wonder Powder collection and my Porcelain Ivory applied effortlessly. The Dream Wonder Powder uses wet process technology that has an ultra fine creamy texture that leaves your skin looking silky soft.

There is also a Master Glaze Glisten Blush Stick ( $ 8.99) that gives a dewy gently glazed look to your cheeks. I chose to use the Face Studio Master Hi-Light Blush ( $ 9.99) as I was attracted to all of the colors in the product and wanted to see how they meshed together on my cheeks. Available in 4 Blush Palettes, my cheeks shimmered but not too much. The balance of color to shimmer enhanced my all- over natural brightness. I was not too sparkly and the pop of color was lovely on the apples of my cheeks. There are also 2 Bronzer Palettes for those of you that want a warmer overall radiance.

The 48 NEW shades added to the popular Expertwear Eyeshadow Collection are available in singles ( $ 3.75), duos ( $ 4.50), trios ( $ 5.50) and quads ( $ 6.25). The new packaging is sleek and the formula has perlite complex to control oil and allow for up to 12 hours of wear! The colors are extremely rich and the possible eye looks endless.

The lippy's I swatched on my inner arm as you all know I generally wear my signature red lippy! They are lovely and nude. The new collection of raw, real nude lipstick is called In The Buff and are available for $ 7.49 each.

There are 10 born to be naked shades available and the colors are creamy, bold and impact ful thanks to their honey- nectar infused formula. Colors swatched are Bare All, Truffle Tease, Touchable Taupe, Untainted Spice and Espresso Exposed.

More to come on their Spring 2014 and Summer Collections...soon! XO

BioElixia: BodyShaper Cellulite Contour Creme and More!

As the warmer weather approaches, some of us look at our bodies and work out a bit harder, eat a bit healthier and aim to look better in a swim suit.

Cellulite is a tough topic for me to address as I feel uncomfortable in my own skin at times. I have it in quite a few places so when the BioElixia team explained that their products were scientifically proven to reduce the appearance of cellulite by up to 57% I knew I had to start the regimen being offered in the US for the first time. We also addressed their BioElixia BodyShaper Stretch Mark Diminishing Creme ($ 35) and I saw unretouched photos that blew me away. I have had two children and loved the idea of making my body appear more even in overall skin tone coloration.

Let's start with BioElixia BodyShaper Cellulite Contour Creme ( $ 49.50). It is scientifically proven to reduce the appearance of cellulite by an average of 57% after 8 weeks of use. The secret behind BioElixia Bodyhaper Cellulite Contour Creme is a combination of key ingredients and their patented TPM Dermal Delivery Technology. This groundbreaking formula has taken the company over 12 years of scientific research and development to create. This ingredient is proven to increase the absorption of key ingredients like caffeine and Vitamin A by up to 5 times! Their products do not sit on the skin, yet penetrate through the layers. I saw it with my own eyes, this I promise you.

Available at as well as .

Nest is the BioElixia BodyShaper Stretch Mark Diminishing Creme ($ 35) which has also been scientifically proven to improve the visible appearance of stretch marks by an average of 71% after 8 weeks of use. There has also been visible reduction of the appearance of stretch marks in just 28 days. Once again, the key ingredient is TPM Dermal Delivery Technology to have the formula penetrate up to 5 times more and penetrate further.

Available at .

BioElixia BodyShaper Firming Toning Body Lotion ($ 25.50) is designed for daily use and supports all-over skin firmness and tightness. This too uses the TPM patented technology. Free of parabens, formaldehydes, sulphates, phthlates, parrafins, artificial colors and dyes, SLS and SLE's and DEA's.

BioElixia BodyShaper Radiance Body Cleanser ( $ 20.50) is a moisture rich body cleanser that gently cleans the skin to help it soft and fresh, without causing irritation. This product in particular was created as a pre-treatment to the body by BioElixia Targeted Body Solutions.

Available at

Lastly, I will touch upon the BioElixia BodyShaper Exfoliating Body Polish ( $ 29.50). This is a mild yet moisturizing exfoliant that uses micro-crystals to gently polish, buff and refine the skin. The exfoliant is the perfect pre-treatment to prepare the entire body for the BioElixia BodyShaper Targeted Body Solutions. This has sweet almond, aloe vera, Vitamin E and of course, the patented TPM Dermal Delivery Technology to allow the ingredients to penetrate further and increase absorption by up to 5 times.

These products, over time, will tell their own stories so I am looking forward to testing the line as I know I would love to feel more healthy. Sometimes we need just a small boost to put us into a healthier way of living and I do believe once results are seen- I will feel better about my areas of concern. Only time will tell....

Colbert MD: Launches Illumino Body Oil

You know what a fan of Dr. Colbert's I am, correct? I use almost all that he creates and the illumino Body Oil ($ 100) does not disappoint! I have been using it since March and I love it. The smell, the supple way my skin feels, just delightful. This body oil instantly nourishes your skin and gives it an overall glow. It's weightless in texture and absorbs easily into the skin.

Key ingredients include Marula Oil, Argan Oil, Yangu Oil, Passion Fruit Oil and Borage Seed Oil. All of these ingredients were infused to aid in the skin's hydration, improve your skin's elasticity and also provide rich vitamins that aid in cell repair.

How to Create Professional Online Photos: Face The World IRL

Being that we are nearing the last semester of school for many, I decided to write about professional online photos as "selfies" can be hugely horrible at times! I know I have taken awful pictures of myself and have noticed others with blurred features, inappropriate backgrounds or merely bad lighting.

A Facebook or Insta profile photo is easy as uploading your favorite selfie.  However, when it comes to your professional online photo, many soon-to-be grads may not know how to “show up.”

This Spring, Procter & Gamble is launching a brand new program, Face the WorldAussie, COVERGIRL and Olay Fresh Effects with the support of LinkedIn will help educate college students on how to professionally define themselves online to help appeal to prospective employers.

#FacetheWorldIRL - Professional Beauty How-Tos:

For your LinkedIn profile photo or an interview, attached are two must-share beauty how-tos for a polished & professional look.  In just a few easy steps, soon-to-be grads can confidently create a look that will help them “show up” in the right way to recruiters to help land the job. This look is divided into two tutorials:

  • Tutorial 1:  Simple and sophisticated makeup look
  • Tutorial 2:  Professional and refined hair style

New Springtime Scent from Bond No. 9: Hudson Yards

Just being in a Bond No. 9 store gets me super excited as I feel as if I am in a museum of art. All of the wonderfully creative colors and designs of the bottles help keep the artist in me alive and I find their scents intoxicating.

Some of the most iconic streets and neighborhoods are named in their eau de parfum scents and now added is Hudson Yards, an area that is in the process of being built as I write! It is the area bordering on Chelsea (my hood) and Hell's Kitchen and close enough to the Hudson River to catch a whiff of waterway. Under construction as we speak, Hudson Yards is being transformed from a parking lot into an honest to goodness future world. There will be sleek, slim skyline-altering buildings, cultural venues, a self contained boulevard, a subway station and New York's semiannual Fashion Week may well decamp there, too! Did I mention a ferry terminal, too?!

The area will surely set the tone for the future of urban landscapes worldwide and when it came to the Eau de Parfum's bottle design- only one color would do- near-neon, iridescent chartreuse. It shimmers too as the glass surface is laser etched with the step and repeat pattern of the Bond No. 9 circular signature token. Around the neck rests a ripening cloth flower blossom in matching chartreuse.

Top notes are Wet Petals of Lily of the Valley, Sparkling Freesia and Pink Pepper Oil. Middle include Peony Buds, Rose Oil Bulgaria and Vibrant Lychee. Bottom notes are Orange Flower Absolute, Iris Absolute and White Ray of Musk.

Hudson Yards has arrived on counter and is $ 285 for 100 ml, $ 200 for 50 ml, $ 135 for Body Lotion, $ 115 for the Candle, $ 95 for Liquid Silk and $ 95 for the Pocket Spray.

Mally Beauty: Evercolor Shadow Stick, Evercolor Poreless Face Defender and More!

There aren't enough kind words I can say about the pre-med turned celebrity makeup artist as I find Mally to be a kind, courteous, caring, thoughtful and generous person. Plus she makes GREAT products that are as wonderful as her personality! Birchbox recently hosted an event with Mally and although I could not be present, I still got the "Mally love"...

I have been a "fan/follwer" of hers for quite sometime and find her among the most interactive social media MUA's I know! She responds to fans/followers tweets and IG posts, gives great and personal advice and also incorporates her family and love of God into her daily posts. I find her absolutely delightful so I felt more than blessed to be able to review some of the newer products in her line.

The Evercolor Shadow Stick ( $ 25) applied effortlessly without any creasing throughout the day. There are 16 shades available and I reviewed Rosy Taupe which suited me perfectly. All shades are considered what Mally calls "bulletproof" meaning- they do not budge! They are also said to bring out the white in your eyes making your eyes appear more radiant. Colors available are: Dusk, Rosy Taupe (worn in picture with mascara), Deep Plum, Champagne, Saddle Shimmer, Angel Shimmer, Bronze, Brown, Topaz, Nautical, Copper Rose, Green, Gunmetal, Platinum, Plum and Twilight.

These are available at Mally Beauty , Birchbox , Ulta Stores and at .

Next was the incredible Volumizing Mascara ( $ 20) in Black that added volume and an instant boost as it made my lashes really curl up and out and their length nearly doubled! I did apply two coats and found it to be non clumping nor flaky.

Mally's High Shine Liquid Lipstick ($ 20) was so pretty in Apricot. I am known for my signature red lips so it took a lot for me to try the neutral tone. I know that may sound silly but I feel most comfortable in blue reds yet everyone is rocking nudes now. With that being said, people loved the way it looked on me as it gave me a softer and younger overall look. My lips appeared more full, too. You simply click up the pen until the color appears through the brush and fill in your *gorgois lips. *Mally uses the word gorgois, so it is not a typo! This is your liner, lipstick and gloss all in one product.

Available at Mally Beauty , Birchbox , Ulta Stores and at .

Lastly I tried the Evercolor Poreless Face Defender ($ 40) and it is amazois! You simply swirl the applicator in the product and softly pat it all over your face. The formula yields a water-clear, featherweight product that diffuses the look of pores, fine lines and helps your makeup stay put. The applicator can get those hard to reach places such as the inner corners of your eyes or the indentations of your nose. The sponge is awesome!

Available at Mally Beauty , Birchbox , Ulta Stores and at .

What Mally products do you love? Do tell so we can possibly try them, too! #loveyouMally

Urban Decay: ELECTRIC Pressed Powder Palette

Urban Decay certainly makes buzzworthy, quality, highly pigmented products. I adore their Naked palettes as well as their 24/7 liners, lippy's and moon dust shadows. When I first caught a glimpse of this ELECTRIC pressed pigment palette I knew I had to have it. I remember the hysteria surrounding the Naked 3 palette and went to both Sephora and Macy's a few times before actually getting the sample for review.

Chaos-inducing color—in ten VELVETY shades. Inspired by Chaos (a brilliant matte blue from The Vice Palette), Urban Decay created the ultimate fix for color addicts—packed with ten of the brightest, most amazing shades you’ve ever laid eyes on, plus a double-ended brush. In addition to Chaos, this palette marks the return of Revolt (a silver standout from our Anarchy Face Case). All the other shades are NEW, UD lovers!

From ultra-smooth mattes to highly dimensional shimmers, each VELVETY shade delivers highly pigmented color payout.

Colors include:
Revolt (bright metallic silver shimmer w/silver glitter), Gonzo (bright turquoise matte w/ floating tonal pearl), Slowburn (bright red-orange matte w/floating pearl), Savage (bright hot pink matte), Fringe (bright metallic teal), Chaos (bright blue matte w/floating tonal pearl), Jilted (bright metallic fuchsia w/blue shift), Urban (bright metallic purple), Freak (bright green w/gold shift) and Thrash (bright lime green matte w/floating gold pearl).

This ELECTRIC palette is available for $ 49 at Sephora ,, select Macy's,, .

Here I compare ELECTRIC to a street artist's mural I love
as the colors are so vibrant and playful.

Revolt, Gonzo, Slowburn, Savage, Fringe
Chaos, Jilted, Urban, Freak and Thrash.

If you use the palette or see colorful images that inspire you, feel free to use #udgetelectric and follow @urbandecaycosmetics on Twitter and/or Instagram.
