Get The Look: Lili Reinhart's Tresses for the 2018 Met Gala

The looks at the 2018 Met Gala are starting to pop up on my Instagram feed so I will share as the information comes in. I love this gala as it is always creative and everyone involved gets to have fun with their hair, makeup, wardrobe, shoes, etc.

Celebrity hairstylist Bobby Eliot  (who posted a beautiful picture of all of the products mentioned within this article on his IG feed, pictured below) used Leonor Greyl hair products to style Riverdale actress Lili Reinhart for the 2018 Met Gala.

The Inspiration
The inspiration for Lili’s hair was soft and ethereal.  Lili is wearing an amazing H&M gown with a beautiful dramatic train, and I wanted the hair to have an effortless feel. The gown is off the shoulders, and I didn’t want any hair to distract from the silhouette.”

The How-To
“We decided on a swept-back, textured look tied up in an effortless knot.”

“We started with clean, damp hair, and I applied Leonor Greyl Mousse au Lotus Volumatriceall over her hair, roots to ends.”

“Then I sprayed on Leonor Greyl Condition Naturelle for heat protection and blew-dry her hair, using the Leonor Greyl Natural Board Bristle Brush to smooth out her ends and my fingers to create lift at the root.”

Once her hair was completely dry, I misted her whole head with Leonor Greyl Lacque Souple Hairspray to give the hair hold while I used a Harry Josh Pro Tools 1" Curling Iron to create a soft bend in the hair.”

“I swept all of her hair back away from her face, then used my fingers to run Leonor Greyl Eclat Naturel Crème through her hair to create a little definition.”

“I created a knot, secured with French pins, and used a pump of Leonor Greyl Serum de Soie Sublimateur mixed with a pea-sized amount of Baume Bois De Rose to separate some pieces with my fingers.

“I finished the look by misting Lili’s updo with Leonor Greyl Laque Souple Hairspray.”

Cindy Crawford Stuns at the Met Gala

Last night at the Met Gala, Cindy Crawford stunned in a custom Balmain design and her body-hugging look was punctuated by her date, none other than the man himself, Olivier Rousteing. Cindy’s glam squad, which included makeup artist, Jo Baker and hair stylist, Ward Stegerhoek created the perfect look to complement her futuristic ensemble – polished and radiant.

Cindy also shared a peek into her Jimmy Choo clutch. What does a super model bring to the season’s hottest party? Tequila and face oil, of course. Spotted inside her bag were the evening’s necessities – Meaningful Beauty Vitality Oil, Mini Casamigos Tequila, Rimmel lip color and press powder and Dentyne Pure Gum.

Even at 50 years old, Cindy still looks undeniably incredible. Her fountain of youth secret lies within her very own skincare line, Meaningful Beauty. Cindy attributes her glow last night to the line’s latest launch, Meaningful Beauty Vitality Oil. This highly concentrated facial oil is super light-weight – it helps to soften and smooth skin for a more radiant complexion. Formulated with vitamin C, Meaningful Beauty's exclusive orchid extract and botanicals, this anti-aging elixir helps address elasticity, firmness and hydration, reducing the visible signs of aging and helping to restore youthful-looking skin.

Get The Look: Rita Ora at the Met Gala

I thought Rita Ora looked absolutely stunning last night and her overall look- radiant!

See below for the beautiful look created by celebrity makeup artist Kathy Jeung for Rita Ora at last nights Met Gala using Rimmel London products.

Who: Singer Rita Ora
Met Gala: Manus x Machina
The Look: Metallic goddess

The Inspiration: Celebrity makeup artist Kathy Jeung drew inspiration from Rita's silver, feathered, custom Vera Wang gown, adding a metallic pop at the inner corners of the eyes and a warm, bronze to help shape them. Kathy complimented the singer’s show-stopping eyes with glowing, sculpted skin and a slightly iridescent lip.

How to Get the Look:

SKIN

Kathy prepped Rita’s skin with the Rimmel London Fix & Perfect Pro Primer, smoothing it onto her face to minimize pores and create a flawless canvas for foundation. She then blended Rimmel London Match Perfection Concealer Concealer in Light underneath the eyes to erase any signs of dark circles. Next, Kathy applied Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation in Golden Honey with a foundation brush and a damp makeup sponge. To contour Rita’s cheeks, Kathy applied Rimmel London Natural Bronzer in Sun Dance to the hollow beneath the cheekbone and blended upwards and then applied the blush from Rimmel London Sculpting & Highlighting Kit by Kate Moss in Golden Sands to the apples of the cheeks.

LIPS

Kathy lined Rita’s lips with Rimmel London Exaggerate Automatic Lip Liner in Innocent and then applied Rimmel London Oh My Gloss! in Non Stop Glamour – a pale, shiny pink – for a slightly iridescent finish.

EYES & BROWS

Kathy filled in Rita’s brows with Rimmel London Brow This Way Sculpting Kit in Mid Brown and finished with Rimmel London Brow This Way Styling Gel in Medium Brown to keep them in place throughout the night.

Using the Rimmel London Magnif’eyes Double Ended Shadow & Liner in Queens of a Bronzed Age, Kathy blended the bronze shadow into the crease and lower lash line. She then applied Rimmel London ScandalEyes Waterproof Eyeshadow Stick in Witness White to the inside corners of Rita’s eyes, blending the pencil out with Rimmel London ScandalEyes Waterproof Eyeshadow Stick in Guilty Grey. As a final touch, Kathy applied Rimmel London SuperCurler 24H Mascara in Black to lengthen and curl Rita’s lashes.

Where to Find Them: Rimmel London products are available at chain drug stores and mass retailers nationwide. Visit RimmelLondon.com for store locations and to try the newest products with Rimmel London’s exclusive Virtual Makeup Tool.

Get The Look: Allison Williams

Fashion’s favorite night of the year has finally arrived – the MET Gala. Last night was surely a feast for my eyes as I loved the theme of Manus x Machina. With an arsenal of luxury skincare products from AMOREPACIFIC, celebrity makeup artist Gianpaolo Ceciliato curated a naturally stunning beauty look to complement Girls star Allison Williams’ intricate gown:

"To get the look, I first massaged theAMOREPACIFIC Green Tea Seed Treatment Oil into her skin as a primer before applying makeup, as this gets rid of any imperfections and creates a clean canvas for makeup application. I then applied the AMOREPACIFIC TIME RESPONSE Eye Renewal Creme.

I used the AMOREPACIFIC AGE CORRECTING FOUNDATION CUSHION SPF 25 in shade 104 on the center of her forehead, under her eyes and on her chin, then I used the same product in shade 204 to go all the way around her hairline, on her cheek bones and on her jaw to complete the contour. I then filled out the brows and added a lot of mascara with just a little smudge of eyeliner and a bold lip. Her eye makeup was nothing crazy - this look was more about the skin
."

The first brand to bring a cushion compact to market, AMOREPACIFIC’s luxurious new cushion, the AGE CORRECTING FOUNDATION CUSHION SPF 25 instantly primes and perfects with full, long-lasting coverage. Enriched with potent Asian botanicals, this beautiful formula not only creates skin that is flawlessly smooth and soft to the touch, but also nourishes skin with anti-aging ingredients. It’s no wonder Hollywood’s finest turn to AMOREPACIFIC to get red carpet ready.

Get the Look: Jourdan Dunn

One of the many wonderful looks tonight came from none other than the ever so beautiful Jourdan Dunn. Jourdan Dunn looked absolutely flawless at the Met Gala this evening and I have her skincare secret! Before makeup, Jourdan prepped her skin with the ELEMIS Pro-Collagen Hydra-Gel Eye Masks ($85, Elemis.com) which reduces fine lines and wrinkles in just 20 minutes.

The perfect pre-red carpet remedy, these miracle masks instantly give you a boost of hydration, which can be lost due to a hectic schedule, whether it be lots of travel, lack of sleep (or both!), so you can shine like your favorite fashion star!

Get the Look: Katie Holmes

DJ Quintero styled Katie Holmes’ hair for tonight’s Met Gala and I think she is looking just stunning!

Hair: DJ Quintero for Alterna Haircare [AC1]

Inspiration: Katie’s look is centered around dramatic faux lashes that her makeup artist brought in. “The whole feel became very Cher-esque; a 70’s throwback,” noted Quintero. He styled her hair long, straight and super-shiny, complimenting her black Zac Posen gown, shoes and Cartier jewels.

Get the look:

Get The Look: Kim Kardashian, Lily Aldridge and Cher

I am still swooning over some of the interpretations on the Met Gala theme just a few night ago. The theme "China: Through The Looking Glass" had attendees looking fabulous and the the below three celebrities were visual eye catchers!

WHO: KIM KARDASHIAN

MAKEUP BY:  Mario Dedivanovic for MARC JACOBS BEAUTY

INSPIRATION: To match the nude elegance of the Peter Dundas for Roberto Cavalli dress, Mario wanted Kim’s skin to mimic the glowing and simplistic palette of the dress and keep it monochromatic. “We wanted to stay true to Kim’s classic look and enhance her natural beauty and golden, glowy skin.”

TIPS/TECHNIQUE: First, Mario created a perfect canvas and achieved a dewy glow on Kim’s face by mixing a medium and dark shade of the Genius Gel SuperCharged Oil-Free Foundation all over the face.

Since Kim’s hair was tightly pulled back, Mario wanted enhance her natural features without too much color. Under the eyes, the Marc Jacobs Beauty Re(Marc)able Full Cover Concealer was applied to, while the Shameless Bold Blush in Shameless was applied to the apple of the cheeks to give a slightly peachy hue.

To achieve a contoured look, Mario used the #Instamarc Light Filtering Contour Powder in Hi Fi Filter 60 in the hollows of the cheeks, around the hair and jawlines and on the sides of the nose.

On the eyes, Mario maintained the nude and crystal color palette by applying a wash across the entire lid of the silvery Twinkle Pop Eye Stick in Frannie, followed by layers of the matte and shimmery peach tones in the Style Eye Con No. 7 Palette in The Dreamer to set it and give it a more nude-based tone. In the creases of her eye, Mario used a dark brown shade from the palette very lightly, and then took the golden Twinkle Eye Pop Color Stick in Au Revoir to the brow bone and lower lash line of the eyes to add some sultry sparkle.

To finish of the eyes, Mario applied the Highliner Gel Eye Crayon in Blacquer in a very thin line on the upper lash line, followed by a very slight wing to stay aligned with the MET Ball theme, and added a final hint of the golden sparkle to the inner corners of the eyes using the Highliner Gel Eye Crayon in Mari(Gold) to enhance the natural gold in her eyes.

And finally, on the lips, Mario achieved Kim’s go-to nude lip look with a warm nude tone of the New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel in Anais.

PRODUCTS: Marc Jacobs Beauty Genius Gel SuperCharged Oil-Free Foundation, Marc Jacobs Beauty Twinkle Pop Eye Stick in Au Revoir 406 and Frannie 408, Marc Jacobs Beauty New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel in Anais 146, Marc Jacobs Beauty #Instamarc Light Filtering Contour Powder in Hi Fi Filter 60, Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner Gel Eye Crayon in Mari(Gold) 70, and Blacquer 42, Marc Jacobs Beauty O!Mega Lash Volumizing Mascara in Blacquer, Marc Jacobs Beauty Re(Marc)able Full Cover Concealer, Marc Jacobs Beauty Style Eye-Con No.7 – Plush Shadow in The Dreamer, Marc Jacobs Beauty  Shameless Bold Blush in 220 Shameless

DRESS: Peter Dundas for Roberto Cavalli

WHO: LILY ALDRIDGE

MAKEUP BY:  Quinn Murphy for MARC JACOBS BEAUTY

INSPIRATION: “Working with Lily for this look was definitely a piecemeal type process. I originally sent Lily a Grace Kelly image because I loved it so much. I thought we were going for a little bit more classic look to complement her Carolinna Herrara dress but then at the last minute we decided to have a major moment at the Met Ball and do a dramatic dark lip and a bold brow. I wanted to make sure the base was very neutral and make it all about a strong pout and brow, the rest of the look was just the background singer to support it.”

TIPS/TECHNIQUE: It was very important to make sure the base was very neutral and keep the focus on the lips and brows. Quinn applied the Marc Jacobs Beauty Genius Gel Supercharged Foundation in two different shades with a damp sponge for her skin. The darker shade was applied around the edges of her face and the lighter shade was used for the rest.

Quinn highlighted her features with the #Instamarc Light Filtering Contour Powder, using the darker shade in the hollows of her cheeks and forehead temples. He then lightly swiped the Marc Jacobs Beauty Shameless Bold Blush in Shamless to the apples of her cheeks.

To keep the lip super matte – he took the Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Lip Crème in Blow 210 and continuously blotted her lips with a tissue, then reapplied the lipstick 3x. He then added the color Magenta 224 just in the center of her lips to give it a unique pop.

To fill in her brows, Quinn used the Brow Wow Defining Longwear Pencil and used a lot of the Marc Jacobs Beauty O!Mega Lash Volumizing Mascara to accentuate her lashes. As final touches, he used a Marc Jacobs Beauty Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer in Taboo 310 on her eyelids to achieve a shiny glossy and almost wet look and set it all with the Marc Jacobs Beauty Perfection Powder – Featherweight Finish.

PRODUCTS: Marc Jacobs Beauty Genius Gel Super-Charged Foundation ($48), Marc Jacobs Beauty Remedy Concealer Pen ($39), Marc Jacobs Beauty O!Mega Lash Volumizing Mascara ($26), Marc Jacobs Beauty #Instamarc Light Filtering Contour Powder In Hi Fi Filter 60 ($49), Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Lip Crème In 210 Blow And 224 Magenta ($30), Marc Jacobs Beauty Brow Wow Defining Longwear Pencil In Dark Brown 8 ($25), Marc Jacobs Beauty Shameless Bold Blush In 220 Shameless ($30), Marc Jacobs Beauty Brow Tamer Grooming Gel ($24), Marc Jacobs Beauty Style Eye-Con No.7 Plush Shadow In The Lolita ($59), Marc Jacobs Beauty Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer In Taboo 310 ($28), Marc Jacobs Beauty Brow Tamer Grooming Gel ($30), Marc Jacobs Beauty Perfection Powder – Featherweight Finish ($48)

DRESS: Carolinna Herrara

 WHO: CHER

MAKEUP BY:  Francesca Tolot for MARC JACOBS BEAUTY

INSPIRATION: To complement her custom Marc Jacobs dress, Francesca Tolot went for a soft glam look, focusing the drama on Cher’s eyes and keeping everything else simple and fresh.

TIPS/TECHNIQUE: To create the look of dewy-skin, Francesca used the Marc Jacobs Beauty Genius Gel Super–Charged Oil–Free Foundation in 14 Ivory Medium and Perfection Powder - Featherweight Foundation in 120 Ivory as the base.

For glowing cheeks, she applied a faint hint of the Shameless Bold Blush in 202 Naughty.

To create a stunning smokey eye, Francesca used the Style Eye-Con Plush Shadow The Starlet 204 and The Rebel 206 and layered different shades of browns, golds and purples and to give the eye a deeper dimension. Francesca applied several coats of the Marc Jacobs Beauty O!Mega Lash Volumizing Mascara to complete the eye look.

For the lips, Francesca went with a beautiful neutral pout starting with the(P)outliner Longwear Lip Pencil in Honey(bun) 302 and filling in her lips with it. To finish, she topped off her lips with theMarc Jacobs Beauty Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer in 314 Moonglow, a beautiful soft pink nude.

Get The Look: Claire Danes Met Gala 2015

Last night was spectacular and Peter Butler created a beautiful look on Claire Danes' tresses. My friend Matin did Claire's makeup which shall be in a separate posts using NARS cosmetics. I have been a long time fan of all three!

For the China-themed MET Gala this year, Claire is wearing a Valentino dress that is a deep bottle green, really beautiful, delicate and quite formal.  So, we thought for her hair she needed to look more comfortable and cool.  The look is simple, but still chic and elegant – rough and finished at the same time.

I first began by towel drying her hair and blow-drying it roughly with my hands to get most of the moisture out.  Then I separated her hair into sections and took about 4 handfuls of Leonor Greyl Mousse au Lotus Volumatrice and applied it from scalp to ends and then sprayed Voluformethrough the top sections into the roots.  After spraying the roots, I took the Leonor Greyl Wide Tooth Comb and combed her hair from the roots up and back straight up off the face.  I created a low side part on the right and pushed it into place, then let the look set.

I went back with the blow dryer and rough dried the rest of her hair with my fingers to get the remaining moisture out.  While it was drying, I added a bit more Voluformeas needed when I thought it looked too “clean” since we wanted the look to have purpose and direction.  Once done, I went back with Leonor Greyl Sérum de Soie Sublimateur to break up the look and give it a little more shine and finish.

The focus of her look tonight was really all on the hairline – lifting it up and off the face.  The combination of the Mousse au Lotus Volumatrice and Voluforme at the roots really made the look.  The mousse is conditioning and gives a lot of body while the Voluforme really gets into the roots to give me that lift and hold that I’m looking for so the roots aren’t going to collapse, the volume isn’t going away – it looks subtle, but has really powerful hold.”

I adore Troy and recently saw him speak at The Makeup Show with another incredibly talented MUA, James Vincent this past Sunday. Troy has a beautiful, sleek line and the pigments are extraordinary. I have already told the story of how he began his own collection/brand on my site yet seeing him again has made me want to support him even more. His personality is that of an angel and his talent soars beyond words.

It has been said many times that he was the late, great, Kevyn Aucoin's protege- yet I see him as a talented and gifted MUA that created a brand that makes women feel beautiful and that in itself, is priceless....

Marion Cotillard and More: Met Gala 2014

Believe you me, I was somewhat glued to Social Media last night as we all caught glimpses of the Met Gala arrivals. Among the first I saw was Sarah Jessica Parker and I thought she epitomized the theme of the night quite beautifully. Others that stole the night for me were Karolina Kurkova, Liu Wen, Karlie Kloss, Rita Ora, Kate Moss, Aerin Lauder, Taylor Swift, Arizona Muze and Suki Waterhouse. Among these beauties was the ever so elegant looking Marion Cotilard. Read below to find out how she obtained her glamourous look....

Marion Cotillard turned heads at Monday’s Costume Institute Gala at The Met in New York. The French beauty paired her midnight blue Christian Dior gown with dramatic side-swept hair and luminous makeup by Hourglass. "The dress makes a graphic statement and we complemented it with glowing skin, iridescent eyes and richly pigmented lips," says makeup artist Christophe Danchaud.

Complexion: Danchaud began by prepping Marion’s skin with Hourglass’ No. 28 Primer Serum. He followed with Hourglass Veil Fluid Makeup in 1.5 and Hourglass Hidden Corrective Concealer in Pearl. He finished with Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light applied all over the face to create a soft-focus effect.

Cheeks: He applied Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Radiant Magenta, a golden fuchsia blush, to create a stunning glow.

Eyes: Danchaud used Hourglass Visionaire Eye Shadow in Exhibition. He began by applying the shimmer lilac shade all over her lids. He then applied the dark mauve shade in the duo close to her lash line and to the outer corner of her eye. He extended the mauve shade to underneath her eyes, close to the lash line. To lighten up his handiwork, he used a gold pigment on the lids. Finally, he applied several coats of Hourglass Film Noir Full Spectrum Mascara.

Brows: He defined the brows with Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil in Dark Brunette.

Lips: Danchaud lined the lips with Hourglass Panoramic Long Wear Lip Liner in Raven, a new shade for summer. He followed with a mix of Hourglass Femme Rouge Velvet Crème Lipstick in Raven and Muse creating a sensual orange red shade.

Other personal favorites include...
