Get The Look: Gigi Hadid at the MTV VMA's

Yes, I watched last night and yes some of the outfits were questionable to me but nonetheless it seemed like a fun night for all involved. I loved when Taylor Swift arrived with such a gloriously fabulous entourage of sorts! The always stunning Gigi Hadid was right there with her and here is how Jennifer Yepez for ghd North America gave her that sleek and glamorous look....

WHO: Gigi Hadid
HAIR BY: Jennifer Yepez for ghd, North America

INSPIRATION: “I wanted to create hair that was simple yet glamorous to help show off her gorgeous dress.”

TIPS/TECHNIQUE: “First I dried Gigi’s hair using the ghd air™ hairdryer and ghd ceramic vented radial brush size 3. I started by blowing Gigi’s hair, beginning from the nape of her neck and working towards the front. Once I got to the section surrounding her ears, I applied moose and thickening spray near roots and teased the hair to create a glamorous look straight from the 70s. The secret to her sleek, slicked back look was the new ghd platinum™ styler, that straightened the hair with ghd’s tri-zone technology™, styling at the optimal temperature of 365 degrees which ensures styles last longer and gives added shine.”

Get The Look: Nicole Kidman

WHO: Nicole Kidman

HAIR BY: David Babaii, Brand Ambassador for ghd, North America

INSPIRATION: “To compliment Nicole’s sexy animal print dress we decided to go for a style that modern, chic and sexy, which sums up Nicole.”

TIPS/TECHNIQUE: “To start, I cut about an inch off prior to styling her hair to give her more of a blunt cut. I roughly dried Nicole’s hair with the ghd air™ hairdryer. Once hair was completely dry, I parted into three sections: one in the back and 2 in the front. Starting with the section in the back, I took 1-1 ½ inch pieces of hair and used the ghd eclipse™ styler to straighten hair. With ghd’s patented tri-zone™ technology there are three heat sensors within the iron that keep the temperature at 365 degrees – which is optimal for styling and helps achieve Nicole’s bone straight look. When styling, make sure you run the eclipse™ styler slowly down the hair from root to tip. Then, create a deep side part and continue straightening throughout the rest of the hair. When creating the side part, important to make sure that it lines up with the arch of your eyebrow. This is the highest part of the eye and will open up the face and prevent the hair from looking too heavy.”

PRODUCTS: ghd air™ hairdryer ($225); ghd eclipse™ styler ($245)

Get The Look: David Babaii, Brand Ambassador for ghd, North America for Gwyneth Paltrow

Yes, you all know I love David's work so it's only natural that I would cover Gwyneth Paltrow's tresses from The Grammy's last night. I thought she looked super sexy....

WHO: Gwyneth Paltrow

HAIR BY: David Babaii, Brand Ambassador for ghd, North America

INSPIRATION: “A modern day Brigitte Bardot. We aimed to keep Gwyneth’s look chic, with a hint of naughtiness.”

TIPS/TECHNIQUE: “Spray ghd Style™ Heat Protect Spray onto damp hair and comb through. Blow dry hair using the ghd air™ hairdryer and a round brush to smooth out strands. Create a side part and divide hair into 3 sections: two in the front and one in the back. Starting with the section in the back, take 1” pieces and wrap hair around the ghd curve™ classic wave wand. The oval shaped barrel creates perfect, large and loose waves. Hold each piece around the barrel for 10 seconds, then release the curl and stretch it out for 2-3 seconds until it cools. Continue all the way to the top alternating the size and direction of each curl. With ghd’s patented tri-zone™ technology, I was able to quickly create this style without much need for product, for long-lasting curls that will stay shiny and smooth all night. To finish, run fingers through the hair to loosen the waves and lightly mist hair with a light hold hairspray.

PRODUCTS: ghd Style™ Heat Protect Spray ($22), ghd air™ hairdryer ($225), ghd curve™ classic wave wand ($245)

More from the 2015 Golden Globes: Celebrity Hairstylist and ghd Brand Ambasador David Babaii

WHO: Kate Hudson

HAIR BY: David Babaii, Brand Ambassador for ghd, North America

INSPIRATION: “I wanted to create a modern day chignon. It’s a look that works well on everyone, no matter if you have straight or curly hair. It’s clean and chic, and is the perfect classic style.”

TIPS/TECHNIQUE: “To create this look, I used the ghd eclipse™. I love this flat iron because it features ghd’s patented tri-zone™ technology with three heat sensors that keep the temperature at 365 degrees - optimal for styling. The ghd eclipse™ leaves hair looking incredibly shiny, sleek and smooth. First, blow dry hair using the ghd air™ hairdryer and a round brush. Part hair down the middle, then divide into 3 sections: two in the front and one in the back. Starting at the back of the head and working forward, take 1 – 1 1/2 inch sections and straighten the hair with the ghd eclipse™. Pull hair into a tight bun on the back of your head. Use bobby pins to secure.”

WHO: Gwyneth Paltrow

HAIR BY: David Babaii, Brand Ambassador for ghd, North America

INSPIRATION: “A 70’s Playboy Bunny, with glamorously chic waves. Gwyneth is known for her iconic straight hair, but for tonight’s Golden Globe's we aimed to mix it up and have a little fun - like nothing you have seen before.”

TIPS/TECHNIQUE: “Blow dry hair using the ghd air™ hairdryer and a round brush. Create an off-center part and divide into 3 sections: two in the front and one in the back. Starting at the back and working forward, take different sized sections and curl hair using the ghd curve™ soft curl iron. The 1.25” barrel creates voluminous, soft polished waves. After each piece, release the curl and stretch it out for 2-3 seconds. Continue all the way to the top alternating the direction of the curl. With ghd’s patented tri-zone™ technology, I was able to create this style in less than 30 minutes for hair that will stay shiny and smooth all night. For the top sections, don’t curl the hair all the way to the root, only the bottom half of the shaft. To finish, apply dime-sized amount of ghd Smooth & Finish Serum to the hands and run through the hair, then brush out the hair with a wide tooth comb to loosen the waves.

PRODUCTS: ghd air™ hairdryer ($225), ghd curve™ soft curl iron ($245) and ghd Smooth & Finish Serum ($28)

WHO: Katherine Heigl

HAIR BY: David Babaii, Brand Ambassador for ghd, North America

INSPIRATION: “I call this hairstyle ‘California Chic.’ I wanted the look to be soft and smooth, but with a hint of naughtiness.”

TIPS/TECHNIQUE: "First blow dry hair using the ghd air™ hairdryer and a round brush. Then part the hair down the middle and divide into 3 sections: two in the front and one in the back. Starting at the back and working forward, take different sized sections and curl hair using the ghd curve™ creative curl wand, the size of the barrel creates the looser shape needed for this look. After each piece, release the curl and stretch it out for 2-3 seconds. Continue all the way to the top alternating the direction of the curl. ghd’s patented tri-zone™ technology styles the hair in less time and creates long lasting curls without having to use a bunch of styling products. For the top sections, don’t curl the hair all the way to the root, only the bottom half of the shaft - this prevents the Shirley Temple tendrils. Finish the look by pulling front sections of hair behind the ear.”
