Get The Look: Chrissy Teigen at The Grammy Awards 2017

I just swapped out my beauty blender for a silicone option so this article was of great interest to me. Learning that Patrick Ta created last night's red carpet look for Chrissy Teigen using The Makeup Drop, the original silicone makeup applicator, made for a convincing switch.

Step 1//SKIN: Patrick prepped Chrissy's face by washing it with La Mer The Refining Facial, prior to applying The Moisturizing Gel Cream to give her complexion a luminous and smooth base. Before any makeup, he added a poreless primer and hydrated her lips using La Mer Lip Balm.

Step 2//FACE: Patrick used the Le Mer The Mist to cool down the face before applying foundation with oil to ensure an endless glow. Patrick used THE MAKEUP DROP to ensure that the foundation blended seamlessly into Chrissy's skin. "I love using The Makeup Drop because it doesn't waste any product." - Patrick Ta 

To highlight under the eyes, Patrick used La Mer concealer -two shades lighter- to bring light to the face using THE MAKEUP DROP's tapered end to precisely blend under the eyes, before applying a translucent powder to hold the concealer in place and brighten. 

Next, Patrick applied a highlighter to the high points of the cheekbones and blush to the apples of the cheeks in a bronzy pink shade before finishing the face with Sephora's Translucent Powder and a setting spray.

Step 3//EYES: Patrick created a bold eye using Sephora Copper Rush 291, Lucky Penny 220 and Pearl 285, and a smudged black liner. Next, he curled Chrissy's lashes and coated twice with black mascara and Mink Kiss Lashes in Little Black Dress.

Step 4://BROWS: To create a thicker brow Patrick used eyebrow pencil in a shade that was one shade lighter than Chrissy's natural brows.

Step 5//LIPS: To complete the look, Patrick mixed Sephora Liquid Mattes in 23 and with Sephora 04 liner with a clear gloss to top it off.

TIPS/TECHNIQUE: To recreate the look at home, apply the base 1 shade across the lid. Then use the dark shade 2 to contour crease and shape outer edge of lid. To complete the look, top of the center of the lid with highlight shade 3 for a luminous finish.

Get The Look: Shay Mitchell, Teen Choice Awards 2015

Got a secret, can you keep it?

No! I need to tell you how to get the look of the Pretty Little Liar's star, Shay Mitchell, from last night's Teen Choice Awards....

Shay’s makeup artist Patrick Ta shares the scoop on how to recreate her red carpet look! 

INSPIRATION: “Shay and I have been working together for a little bit now and she really trusts me, so I am always able to play”, says Patrick. “We normally do a group chat prior to an award show to talk about the look and what she is going to wear. Shay loves fresh dewy bronze skin, which looks great on her! Last night, the inspiration for her look came from her dress. It's white, modern and structured - we wanted to play up the eyes to go along with the dress".

GET THE LOOK - Here is Patrick's step-by-step breakdown:

· I love to prep my clients' skin with Bioré Charcoal Pore Minimizer to get deep into pores and draw out dirt and oil. This allows the make up to lay smoothly on the skin. Then, I apply a Bioré Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strip on the nose for blackhead removal and to keep shine at bay.

· Once the face was clean, I applied Hourglass Primer Serum to moisturize and help the makeup lay beautifully. Next I lightly used the Armani Designer Lift Foundation to ensure the complexion looked bright without appearing too heavy. Then I contoured the hallows of the cheeks to accentuate the cheekbones with Tom Ford Intensity One Contour Pallet. Next, I used Mac Select Moisturecover in NC30 to highlight and added Mac Cosmetics Golden Bronze to the apples of the cheeks. I then added the Balm Mary-Lou Manizer for additional highlighting. I finished the face off with a Translucent Powder from La Mer to help ensure long wear, and used a setting spray to give the skin a natural luminous finish”.

· To create Shay's eyes, I used a Mac Pigment in Tan on the lid. Then added a dark matte brown hue to the outer crease and bottom lash line for drama and definition. I recommend curling lashes and applying two coats of waterproof mascara for long wear. Finally I added Esqido Lashes for some twinkle.

· To create a thicker brow like Shay's this evening, try an Anastasia Eyebrow Pencil in Brunette.

· To complete the look, I used a Tom Ford bronze nude lipstick called Smoke Sable to compliment the blush.
