About Last Night: Jennifer Lopez at People Magazine's First Award Show

Can we just take a minute and say how gorgeous Jennifer Lopez looked at last night's People Magazine award show? She takes my breath away and continues to look incredibly stunning in all of her different looks. She is one of the few I feel can wear just about anything and truly carry it off. In fact, I believe she is one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. I did get a glance at The 2011 Grammy Awards- and not only was she friendly- but she was so darn gorgeous in person that her smile seemed to light up the large arena! Well, last night's gala was no exception as L'Oreal Paris spokesperson Jennifer Lopez nailed the red carpet look once again while attending People Magazine's first ever award show.

How to get the look:

MAKEUP ARTIST: Mary Phillips

INSPIRATION: Mary wanted to go with a neutralized, modern, 70's glam makeup look. It's bold, but still somehow an appropriately muted look, while being powerful at the same time. With the straight center parted hair, and insanely gorgeous white beaded jumpsuit, Mary wanted to echo the makeup to reflect that time so she created a bold eye look and high lacquered lip with a more intensified line that still appears soft.

MAKEUP STEP-BY-STEP:

STEP 1: Prep the skin with a L'Oréal Paris Revitalift Miracle Blur as it’s ideal for sensitive skin and leaves you having a smooth texture with very noticeable results (tighter, brighter and even skintone.) Works perfect as a primer (and for those constantly taking makeup on and off throughout the day) it works as a full proof base to protect the skin.

STEP 2: Apply the L'Oréal Paris Visible Lift Blur Concealer in Fair onto the lids to brighten and plump the outer corner areas of the eyes. The consistency is very smooth and helps the application to glide on easily – whether you want to use your fingers or a concealer brush.

STEP 3: Follow with a foundation. Use theL'Oréal Paris Visible Lift Blur Foundationin Honey Beige as the main over-all-color. Its lightweight, buildable formula leaves you with a luminous glow while also blurring all the fine lines and wrinkles. *Mary’s pro-tip: Mary loves to mix a few of the foundation bases for the more shaded areas to highlight. She drops a luminous highlighter from LUSH for a more dewy effect.

STEP 4: As for the blush, first apply theL'Oréal Paris Visible Lift Blur Blush in Soft Peach. For cheeks to look truly natural, Mary believes it’s always best to build a few colors. Follow with the L'Oréal Paris True Match Blush in Sweet Ginger to create a naturally flushed look (this color is a great finishing touch to someone’s skintone like Jennifer’s.)

STEP 5: For eyes, use the L'Oréal Paris Colour Riche Dual Effects in Treasured Bronze. Keep the pressure of the application softer towards the inner eye and build it out further, pressing more firmly, giving you an emphasized bolder eye while still leaving a muted undertone. *This happens to be Jennifer’s favorite product as it carries all her favorite eye shadow shades.

STEP 6: Follow with the L'Oréal Paris Infallible Never Fail Liner in Black. Apply it slightly above the lash hairs on the lash line and extend the line out and up towards the outer corners of the eye.

STEP 7: Curl your lashes before applying mascara, always. Use the L'Oréal Paris Voluminous Butterfly Intenza Mascara in Blackest Black for a doll-like lash effect. The brush does lengthens, separates, and volumizes all the same time.

*Mary’s pro-tip: Mary recommends using Kevyn Aucoin’s eyelash curler, which allows you to achieve wide-eyes fluttery lashes.

STEP 8: For a well-defined brow look, apply the new L'Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Sculptor in Brunette. This brow pen will give you healthy, fuller brows and gives a great element to complete the eye as it helps to frame the face without being overbearing.

STEP 9: Lastly, for the lip, use a classic nude (but still punchy enough) ala JLO style. Use the new juicy L'Oréal Paris Infallible Never Fail Lipcolour in Henna. Re-apply after the first coat and then blot. Use this as a lip liner as well by applying with a dry and very thinly pointed lip brush.

STEP 10: Finish off with the new L'Oréal Paris Infallible Pro Spray & Set Makeup Extender Setting Spray to lock your makeup look and keep you looking fresh hours after application. This spray will prevent melting and facing.
