Backstage with AVEDA: Public School Fall '15

Yes, I will try and keep you updated as much as possible so here is more from NYFW... AVEDA for Public School Fall '15!

The Half ’Do
Aveda Global Creative Director, Antoinette Beenders channeled early ‘90’s subculture in New York City at Public School Fall ‘15

Design team Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne created a collection inspired by New York City’s early ’90’s downtown club scene that combined form and function. The collection showcased the urban nomad dressed in exaggerated oversized silhouettes coupled with abstract flowing layered looks.

Beenders’ look epitomized the kind of next day hair you wish for after a long night of dancing. “This girl had a great night out. Her morning-after hair speaks for itself. She was confident and carefree. She danced her heart out, and still looks amazing,” Beenders says.

How to Get the Look

Step 1: Apply a generous amount of Brilliant™ Retexurizing Gel to the top half of the head for a 'wet' look. Comb thru the top of the head to the ears, ensuring the gel is even in the hair.

Step 2: Emulsify 3 drops of Dry Remedy™ Daily Moisturizing Oil in the hands and begin forming the waved shape right above the ears for added shine.

Step 3: Starting with the right side create a finger wave and clip in place to set; repeat on the other side. With both sides done, cover the top of the head with a hair net to mold the shape while hair dries.

Step 4: Keep the remainder of hair long and loose. Lightly fluff hair with 2 drops of Dry Remedy™ Daily Moisturizing Oil letting the hair embrace its natural texture.

Step 5: With the sides now dry, take off the hair net and clips, gently run fingers through the top of the head to shake out the shape.

Step 6: To finish, set with a light mist of Air Control™ Hair Spray
