NYC Celebrity Hairstylist Jeff Chastain Teams Up With Birchbox

Being a fan since it's 2010 launch, I try to cover what Birchbox is doing and in what direction they are moving in whenever possible. Today Jeff Chastain, a New York City celebrity hair stylist, and Birchbox, a leading beauty and grooming company, announce the launch of PARLOR by Jeff Chastain, a line of multitasking hair care and styling products that combine professional quality with everyday ease for fresh, no-fuss style. Chastain – whose celebrity clients include Sarah Jessica Parker, Kerry Washington, Keri Russell, Sam Rockwell, Chris Messina, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Kristen Taekman, among others – designed and developed the collection exclusively for Birchbox.

Inspired by his signature practice of “product cocktailing” – using several different products at once – Chastain created PARLOR by Jeff Chastain, blending the benefits of his favorite products into single, easy-to-use formulas. The launch collection, available today on Birchbox.com, consists of four unisex products: Moisturizing Sea Salt Spray, Smoothing Blow Out Spray, Detangling Leave-In Conditioner and Reworkable Hold Paste. Two additional products – the Texturizing Finishing Spray and Flexible Hold Spray – will launch in May 2015.

“In my experience working with other salon hair brands, I’ve noticed that you often have to use two or more products together to get the desired effect. This always leaves you with too many products in your bathroom that you aren’t using,” says Jeff Chastain. “Every product in the PARLOR by Jeff Chastain line can be used alone to get great style because I’ve done the mixing for you.”

All products contain nourishing sweet almond extract and feature a refined but addictive fragrance with notes of ripe peach, fresh cut grass, and white woods. The bottles and secondary packaging have a premium, soft-touch finish with a sleek silhouette to give the collection a luxury-brand feel at a more accessible price point.
