Smashbox Cosmetics: Newest Launches

After meeting Smashbox Founder and Celebrity Photographer a few years ago, I knew Davis Factor was a visionary. A creative genius in my opinion.

"So many music videos, scenes and commercials are shot at Smashbox Studios. We started noticing that certain cameras being used that made everyone look amazing in film. These cameras actually reduced the need for retouching. And from this camera technology, we created light filter technology and infused it into this product."

Introducing New Photo Filter Powder Foundations ($42) available in 10 shades that act like a photo filter in a compact!

It is a powder foundation that is infused with light filter technology that refract light in various directions.

The texture is velvet like and applies with ultra smoothness. The double sided sponge was specially designed to create a range of finishes and coverage levels. The smooth side is for a demi- matte, fuller coverage where the velvety side is for a more natural, lighter coverage.

Available at Smashbox.com, Sephora, Sephora inside JCPenney, ULTA, Nordstrom, Beauty.com and select Macy's.

Also from Smashbox Cosmetics are the Step-By-Step Contour Stick Trio ( $40) which is a Sephora Exclusive. These three creamy sticks help make contouring your face, no matter what shape, easy!

"Every day we play with lighting to add depth and dimension to the face. If done right, everyone can have amazing cheekbones, a great nose and a killer jawline. Contouring does the exact same thing, except with makeup" says Davis Factor.

Key words- if done right. We have all seen Kim K's contouring face chart as well as so many other MUA's and a lot looks quite complex. When not blended correctly, one can look unnatural. I go by the late great Kevyn Aucoin's techniques when contouring and the new Smashbox Contour Stick Trio makes for an easy blend. It is amazing what a little contouring can do! Most people asked if I lost weight when I do it!

The 3 ultra- blendable creamy sticks glide effortlessly onto the skin. I love that there is a guide called #SHAPEMATTERS that shows you how to apply the sticks based on your face shape.

I like thinning out my nose and making a stronger jawline. I also apply the darker color to the hollows of my cheeks for a more sculpted cheekbone.

Once again, contouring can work on anyone and I do believe you will be amazed with the results once you get the hang of it.
