Oscar de la Renta: Something Blue

This fragrance was designed to make a woman feel her most beautiful. Something Blue is a woman's good luck charm for when she wants to feel feminine, alluring and full of life.

Something Blue opens with a burst of mandarin and linden blossom followed by a romantic heart of stephanotis, lily of the valley and a kiss of lychee. Stephanotis is the signature note of Something Blue and is often called " bridal veil" because of its traditional use in wedding bouquets.

In partnership with Ann Gottlieb and perfumers Ilias Ermenidis and Frank Volkl of Firmenich, a proprietary technology was used to extract the Essenes of Stephanotis in its natural form.

"Every woman dreams of that day. You have to go the extra mile and fulfill that dream to make something that a woman will fall in love with." - Oscar de la Renta

Price: Eau de Parfum Spray 3.4 oz./100ml $115, Eau de Parfum Spray 1.7 oz/50ml $85, Scented Candle $65 and Body Lotion 5.0 oz $50.

Available at Oscar de la Renta boutiques and oscardelarenta.com, Bloomingdale's and bloomingdales.com, Saks Fifth Avenue and SaksFifthAvenue.com.

Wedding Dresses made out of Toilet Paper?! YES!

Having a BFA, I was absolutely amazed at the creativity shown by these thrifty brides. I studied Scupture yet always had a penchant for Fashion Design. I hope you appreciate the work that was put into these dresses as I was astounded by their creativity with the medium on hand!

(Boca Raton, FL) Cheap-Chic-Weddings.com announced the winners of their Tenth Annual Toilet Paper Wedding Dress contest sponsored by Charmin today. Celebrity judge Kate Pankoke, Owner of Elaya Vaughn Bridal and season 11 and season 12 Project Runway contestant, helped with the final judging which took place on Haven Rooftop at the Sanctuary Hotel in Manhattan.

Grand Prize Winner Susan Brennan, Orchard Lake, Michigan

Grand Prize winner Susan Brennan, is a designer, former cheerleader for the Detroit Pistons and yoga enthusiast. It took her a month to make the dress using 17 ultra soft two-ply rolls of Charmin.

She is from Orchard Lake, MI and was the grand prize winner in 2011 and 2012.

Susan Brennan’s remarkable wedding dress before and after transformation.

Brennan said, “It’s got this lace-looking top, lots of beading. And then it’s got a kind of “princessy” long skirt, but then you can take it off and there’s a short little fringe shirt underneath it for dancing”.
She receives the Grand Prize of $10,000.

This year’s second place winner is Katrina Chalifoux from Knoxville, Tennessee. Katrina, who won the top prize in 2008, receives the $5,000 Second Place prize.

This year’s third place winner is Amber Mills, from Dallas, Texas, who designed her gown in the popular “trumpet” style. She spent three months creating the dress, and found the very special green and blue Charmin, on eBay.

She receives a $2,500 prize for her magnificent creation.

Laura Gawne and partner Susan Bain who operate the website on saving money on weddings, base the contest on the popular bridal shower game.Cheap-Chic-Weddings.com asked their readers to create wedding gowns using toilet paper, tape and/or glue. Entrants were allowed to sew as well. The top dresses this year showed incredible attention to detail.” Said Laura Gawne. Susan Bain added, “We are continually amazed by the talent our contestants display!”

The Tenth Annual Cheap Chic Weddings “Toilet Paper Wedding Dress Contest” was sponsored by Charmin. This year marks the fourth time Charmin has partnered in the contest. They also welcomed new sponsors The Sanctuary Hotel and Haven Rooftop.

The winners were announced at an event hosted by The Sanctuary Hotel in New York City. Dresses were judged on Creativity, Originality, Beauty and the use of Toilet Paper.
