Get The Look: Anna Chlumsky at the 67th annual Emmy Awards

I am a big fan of makeup artist to the stars Melanie Inglessis and she does not disappoint. Anna Chlumsky looked simply elegant last night and below is how she got the look....

MAKEUP BY: Melanie Inglessis, for MAKE UP FOR EVER

INSPIRATION: “I wanted to create an elegant, yet modern makeup look that would match Anna’s ethereal dress.”

TIPS/TECHNIQUE: “To begin Anna’s look, I started by prepping her skin with the MAKE UP FOR EVER Step 1 Skin Equalizer Hydrating Primer to create a great base for her makeup.

Next I applied the new MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Liquid Foundation which is the first foundation to meet the needs of 4K technology, appearing even more invisible and natural-looking on skin than ever before, to create a flawless complexion on and off camera.

After applying bronzer and blush, I dusted MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Microfinish Powder to the t-zone.

I then created a smoky eye by applying MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Matic in Satiny Warm Brown #S-60 to the top and bottom lash line, along with MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Shadow in Pink Ash #S836 to the crease, and MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Shadow in Ash Plum #S832 to the outer corners and by the bottom and top lashes to create depth.

Lastly, I applied MAKE UP FOR EVER Rouge Artist Natural in Pink Beige #N4 to her lips to give the look a soft finish.”

Get the Look: Amber Heard

Actress Amber Heard, star of Magic Mike XXL, has been seen rocking this trend on the red carpet for the movie’s Amsterdam premier. Her sultry, red lip look was created by celebrity makeup artist, Melanie Inglessis for MAKE UP FOR EVER.

To craft this “color of the summer” lip, Melanie used amazing MAKE UP FOR EVER products and kept the lip look perfect for summer, by pairing it with bronzed skin and a simple, yet smoldering eye.

Below find tips from the wonderfully talented makeup artist, Melanie Inglessis, for how to recreate this look. I have been a fan of Melanie's for quite some time!

Tips/Techniques: “I wanted to give Amber a classic red lip to compliment the simple sexiness of her black, Cushnie et Ochs dress. To apply, I first used the long lasting Aqua Lip Waterproof Lip Liner Pencil in #8C True Red to define and accentuate the shape of her lips as well as prevent bleeding of her lipstick color. Next I applied the Rouge Artist Intense #8 Matte Bright Red using the MAKE UP FOR EVER Artisan Brush #304 Lip Brush which created a bright, bold statement lip."

Get the Look with Make Up For Ever: Rosamund Pike

That red dress! That gorgeous face! I loved Rosamund Pike in Gone Girl and I thought last night was one of her best looks to date. She is always gorgeous and that red dress last night paired with that nude lip was just a beautiful compliment to her overall look.

WHO: Rosamund Pike

MAKEUP BY: Melanie Inglessis, for MAKE UP FOR EVER

INSPIRATION: “As soon as I saw Rosamund’s custom Givenchy dress, I knew she was going to have a moment on the red carpet. I wanted to create a classic beauty look like the iconic Grace Kelly.”

TIPS/TECHNIQUE: “To prep Rosamund’s fair skin I applied SISLEY Sisleya Essential Skincare Lotion all over the face, followed by the refreshing SISLEY Floral Spray Mist. While the skin is still damp I applied SISLEY Hydra-Global Intense Anti-Aging Hydration to keep Rosamund’s skin nourished all night long.

To reduce under eye puffiness I applied a thick layer of SISLEY Eye Contour Mask and left it on for 10 minutes.

I finished with SISLEY Nutritive Lip Balm and left on until I was ready to apply lipstick.

I wanted Rosamund’s skin to have a flawless matte finish and MAKE UP FOR EVER Step 1 Skin Equalizer Mattifying Primer, which comes out in March, locks in moisture while giving a beautiful matte canvas for makeup. It’s the perfect primer and creates the perfect base.

Using a Beauty Blender I worked CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua onto the skin, followed by SISLEY Phyto-Cernes Eclat Concealer for under the eyes.

To recreate depth in the face I blended CHANEL Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base with MAKE UP FOR EVER Artisan Medium Powder Brush #126 and worked the product below the cheek bone, then gently swiped it across the top of the forehead and bridge of the nose for a sun-kissed glow.

Next, I dusted MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Pressed Powder all over, which is a great talc-free and translucent powder to keep the look fresh.

To define and sharpen the brows I used MAKE UP FOR EVER Brow Seal Transparent Eyebrow Gel.

To enhance Rosamund’s beautiful eye shape I wanted to use earthy tones and dusted MAKE UP FOR EVER Matte Artist Shadow in #M-530 Eggshell all over the lid.

I then used MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Liner in #M-50, Matte Bright Brown along the lash line and smudged it with CHANEL Illusion D’ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Mirage to create a softer look.

I then added MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Shadow in #M-536, Milk Tea, to the crease to open the eye and used MAKE UP FOR EVER Artisan Large Blender Brush #242 in a back and forth motion to blend the shade and also added it along the lower lash line.

I used CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Brun on the bottom lashes and then applied MAKE UP FOR EVER Smoky Lash Mascara Rich Black to the top lashes to create more volume and lengthen the lashes.

For the perfect nude pout, I defined the lips with CHANEL Precision Lip Definer in Beige Innocent and then filled in with CHANEL Rouge Coco Ultra Hydrating Lip Colour in Mademoiselle.

PRODUCTS: MAKE UP FOR EVER Step 1 Skin Equalizer Mattifying Primer ($36) Available in March; MAKE UP FOR EVER Artisan Brush Medium Powder Brush #126 ($55); MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Pressed Powder ($36); MAKE UP FOR EVER Brow Seal Transparent Eyebrow Gel ($18); MAKE UP FOR EVER Matte Artist Shadow in #M-530, Eggshell ($21); MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Liner in #M-50, Matte Bright Brown ($19); MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Shadow in #M-536, Milk Tea ($21); MAKE UP FOR EVER Artisan Brush Large Blender Brush #242 ($30); MAKE UP FOR EVER Smoky Lash Mascara, Rich Black ($23); SISLEY Gentle Buffing Facial Cream ($95); SISLEY Floral Spray Mist($100); SISLEY Black Rose Cream Mask ($162); SISLEY Sisleya Essential Skincare Lotion ($185); SISLEY Hydra-Global Intense Anti-Aging Hydration ($255); SISLEY Eye Contour Mask ($145); SISLEY Phyto-Cernes Eclat Concealer Shade 2 ($107); SISLEY Nutritive Lip Balm ($74); CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra Light Skin Perfecting Sunscreen Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15; CHANEL Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base; CHANEL Illusion D’ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Mirage; CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Brun; CHANEL Precision Lip Definer in Beige Innocent; CHANEL Rouge Coco Ultra Hydrating Lip Colour in Mademoiselle

Get The Look: Rosamund Pike

WHO: Rosamund Pike

MAKEUP BY: Melanie Inglessis, for MAKE UP FOR EVER

INSPIRATION: “I’m always inspired by the dress and tonight Rosamund is wearing an elegant, yet modern and playful asymmetrical style. To honor the dynamic, I wanted her makeup to remain neutral with a pop of color on the lip.”

TIPS/TECHNIQUE: “To prep Rosamund’s fair skin, I applied SISLEY Sisleya Essential Skincare Lotion all over the face which is the first step to my skincare ritual, followed by the refreshing SISLEY Floral Spray Mist. To brighten the under eye area I applied a thick layer of SISLEY Eye Contour Mask and left it on for 10 minutes. Next I mixed a few drops of SISLEY Black Rose Precious Face Oil with SISLEY Hydra-Global Intense Anti-Aging Hydration to keep Rosamund’s skin nourished all night long. I finished with SISLEY Nutritive Lip Balm, which I left on until I was ready to apply lipstick.

It’s important to use a primer that locks in moisture but also creates a flawless canvas, like the MAKE UP FOR EVER Step 1 Skin Equalizer Mattifying Primer, which comes out in March. I then feathered out MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Invisible Cover Foundation all over the face followed by SISLEY Phyto-Cernes Eclat Concealer for under the eyes. To set the foundation I dusted CHANEL Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour Broad Spectrum SPF 15 all over and applied it with MAKE UP FOR EVER Artisan Medium Powder Brush #126.

To contour, I blended CHANEL Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base with MAKE UP FOR EVER Artisan Blending Brush #122 and worked the product below the cheek bone, then gently swiped it across the top of the forehead and bridge of the nose for a sun-kissed glow.

To add freshness to Rosamund’s makeup look I softly blended MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Blush #225 Peachy Pink to the apples of the cheeks.

Since I planned to focus on the lips I wanted to create soft definition on the eyes by applying MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Matic Eye Shadow Pencil in #ME-50 Metallic Golden Taupe to the top lid crease and softly smudged the color along the bottom lash line, ensuring it connected on the outer corner. I then used MAKE UP FOR EVER Artisan Large Blender Brush #242 to define the eyes with CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Prélude. I used CHANEL Inimitable Mascara in Brun on the bottom lashes and then applied my favorite mascara, MAKE UP FOR EVER Smoky Lash Mascara Rich Black, to the top lashes to create a more intense look.

Rosamund’s lips are the focus of tonight’s makeup look and I wanted to add a pop of fun, matte color that would last for hours on the red carpet. I used MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Lip Waterproof Lip Liner Pencil #25C Orange Red to line the lips and filled in with CHANEL Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Colour in La Pétillante.”

UPDATE: 50 Shades of Grey x Make Up For Ever Collaboration Available Now

Yes, I saw this coming years ago after the book had created so much buzzworthy energy and everyone was reading the book with such glorious, droolworthy anticipation of each chapter. I heard stories that the book had helped several couples rekindle their sparks, so to speak, too. If you remember, I had wondered which beauty brand would create a collaboration with the movie. Well, one of my favorites, MAKE UP FOR EVER, is the brand that collaborated with the movie and the products look simply alluring...take a peek below!

The first product is the Tease Me lip trios ($32 each) which include a smudge-proof lip liner, a long-wearing lip gloss and a lightly textured lip gloss available in either Innocent or Passionate.

Next, a blush trio Desire Me ($49), comes packaged inside a velvet pouch complete with a key and rope tie.

The last product is Give In To Me ($79) and features an eye shadow palette, eyeliner, lipstick and gloss to perfect your sensual look, all packaged within a keepsake box with a hidden compartment. Oh my, what secrets can be left in there?!

The collection is set to be released in Sephora stores on December 26th while the movie is set for release on Valentine's Day, 2015.

UPDATE: Now that the collection has been released- I added pictures of the wonderful products as well as a few of the different looks suggested by Victoria Down, Head of Makeup Department for Fifty Shades of Grey.

"I used MAKE UP FOR EVER every day on the Fifty Shades of Grey set. As a professional makeup artist, I try more than 100 products before I find the right one. I consistently go back to MAKE UP FOR EVER products because of the quality, range of colors, and superior blendability. It's made with the Pros in mind so you can expect performance and quality for everyday wear as well."- Victoria Down

New Launches from Make Up For Ever

If you personally know me, you know I love my signature red lips! I feel like Rita Ora does when she says she feels nude or not like herself without her red lippy! I can certainly relate as my red lips have become part of my everyday look. Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouge No.8 has been my color for years since Gina Brooke first introduced it to me. It lasts for hours, was a great blue red and has sadly been out of stock since December! With that being said, I am now pleased to announce that Make Up For Ever has suggested I use the New Rouge Artist ($20) color in 52 and although it is not like the Aqua Rouge formula, it is AWESOME! It's called Rebellious Red to boot!

Four new shades for Fall have been launched with two intense and two Natural formulas, there is a color/texture to fit your every mood. High pigment colors are N51 Playful Pink and 52 (my new favorite) Rebellious Red. For sheer, beautiful washes of color try N51 Confident Coral or N52 Naughty Nude. Rouge Artist Intense is formulated with an exclusive pigment complex for ultra rich color and contains 50% more pigment than traditional lipstick formulas! Here is the link to all of the available colors.

Also newly launched are FIFTEEN Artist Liners ($ 19 each). The Artist Liner is a highly pigmented eye pencil that glides on easily to define and enhance the eyes. Artist Liner is a twist up pencil that is available in quite an array of shades. Some are Matte, others Metallic, Iridescent, have Satin or Diamond finishes and all play up your eyes with colors that can take you from day to night! Here is the link to all of the available colors.

Lastly, in celebration of the brand's 30th Anniversary, Make Up For Ever has revolutionized the product that made it world famous- the Artist Shadow ($21 single/$34 Duo and $44 Trio).  Introducing the Artist Shadow range which is a collection of 210 highly pigmented eye shadows with blendability and intense color payoff. Yes, 210 choices with Matte, Satin, Metal, Diamond and Iridescent finishes that allow up to 88% concentrated pigment which is the HIGHEST level on the market. My head is spinning just looking at the gorgeous shades I received in Satin 102 Onynx, Satin 234 Azure Blue, Iridescent 520 Pinky Sand and Metal 912 Orchid.

Available at Sephora.com and Make Up For Ever Boutiques NOW! You must see these new products in person as the possibilities of creating new looks are endless...

MAKE UP FOR EVER: New Launches for Spring/Summer 2014

Anyone that knows me is well aware that I have been wearing MUFE Aqua Rouge No.8 for nearly two years as I love it's true blue-red color as well as it's long lasting wear. It does not come off until I take it off and sometimes that means ten hours of wear. When I heard of these new launches from MAKE UP FOR EVER, I knew I had to share them with you...

Aqua Matic ( $ 21 each) are available at Sephora.com and MUFE Boutiques and are the latest addition to the MUFE's coveted Aqua family! Aqua Matic is available in 10 shades from neutral to vibrant with satin, metallic, diamond or iridescent finishes that are meant to stay put. You can swipe your favorite color across your lid for a quick and easy look or layer them to create a multicolored effect. You can then blend them for added dimension as well. They are crease-proof, smudge-proof, have high intensity color and were formulated for make up artists working in extreme environments as well as women wanting high performance make up for daily wear.

Next is the Aqua Summer 2014 Aqua Liner ( $ 23 each) in 4 new shades, as well as a new Aqua Rouge ( $ 24) in a new it-shade Light Rosewood and 5 new Aqua Lip ( $ 19 each) liners. They are all long-lasting, smudge-proof products that have a high color payoff.

New Aqua Smoky Extravagant (  $ 24) is the waterproof answer to mascara must-have Smoky Extravagant. Delivering volume, length, curl and precision- this mascara boasts all of the same lash defining qualities as the original formula in addition to withstanding both water and heat!

The brush utilizes Tynex Fiber on all 580 bristles on the brush, which leaves the lashes combed, lifted and elongated. Rather than a straight brush, Aqua Smoky Extravagant has a unique shape which allows every lash to be coated from root to tip. Inside the bottle, the wiper is designed to dispense enough product while remaining clump free, too.

Finally, I must tell you about new Mist & Fix ( $ 34 for 125 ml and $ 14 for 30 ml) which was a cult-favorite and has been re-launched with key setting features including moisturizing benefits. It's a setting spray for your make up and was designed to have long-lasting hold.

Mist & Fix boasts a new formula containing an O2 Skin Complex which provides oxygenation to the skin making it more radiant without a shiny finish. Mist & Fix is alcohol-free and dermatologist tested as well as being suited for all skin types. With it's lightweight formula, the all in one setting spray keeps makeup colors vibrant and prevents them from fading.

This product will be exclusively sold at Sephora, www.sephora.com and MAKE UP FOR EVER boutiques.

This line is one of my favorites for it's long lasting wear. It is wonderful to apply products once and have no need for retouches throughout the day....or night. Simply AMAZING!
