I love learning new information and this Saturday, May 4, marks the 90th birthday of Audrey Hepburn—and this year is the 100th anniversary of her favorite fruity-floral fragrance, Krigler English Promenade 19.
Audrey reportedly first discovered English Promenade 19, when she was filming the movie Roman Holiday in Rome in the early 1950's, though the energizing, intoxicating scent was originally released in 1919. The bold blend boasts notes of orange blossom, juicy grapefruit, jasmine, sweet white musk, neroli and ylang-ylang and was inspired by the French Riviera, where the Krigler family fragrance business was based in the early 1900s. Promenade is a nod to the Promenade des Anglais, a seaside path in Nice.
